Meet The Gould Family
Building runs deep in the Gould family. We’re proud to be three generations of Auckland builders, with craftsmanship and knowledge passed down from Bryan, Dean, and now Danyon Gould.
It all started with Bryan Gould, who began his apprenticeship in Christchurch in 1952 and later worked across New Zealand and Australia. Drawn back to Auckland by our unique timber-framed building style, he went on to spend decades as a respected builder, foreman, and project manager.
That same pride and precision have been carried through by Dean and Danyon, continuing the Gould legacy with a focus on craftsmanship, integrity, and innovation. With three generations of building experience, Gould Builders remains a trusted name in Auckland construction - where tradition meets modern building expertise.

Dean Gould
Managing Director
With more than 46 years of experience in the building industry, Dean has seen it all - from large-scale commercial projects to family homes filled with character. Known for his attention to detail, efficiency, and reliability, Dean’s craftsmanship has earned him a reputation as a builder clients can truly trust.
As a fully qualified Licensed Building Practitioner with Site Safe registration, Dean ensures every project meets the highest standards of safety and quality. Beyond the technical skills, it’s his pride in his work and commitment to doing the job right that set him apart.
Danyon Gould
Project Manager
Carrying on the family legacy, Danyon brings 7 years of building experience and a fresh, energetic approach to every project. A fully qualified builder, he’s known for his strong organisation, problem-solving, and management skills - ensuring projects run smoothly from start to finish.
Danyon works closely with clients, tradespeople, and architects to keep communication clear and expectations met. With a keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for building, he’s dedicated to delivering results that combine practicality with craftsmanship.
